Allenberry
Playhouse
Thursday, March 26, 2009$85
per person When
you arrive at the Allenberry Resort and Playhouse in Boiling Springs, PA, take a
few minutes to explore the beautiful grounds before enjoying the Allenberry
Lunch Buffet, located in the charming Bosler Room, which contains a full wall
pictorial map of Cumberland County painted in 1934. The Lunch Buffet has become the traditional first stop
for Allen berry Playhouse matinee lovers. “Something for everyone” has never
tasted so good. After
lunch, make your way to the Playhouse for the 1 pm performance of the classic
comedy “Forever Plaid”. This
story of a quartet of high-school
chums' earnest dreams of recording an album ended in death (literally and
indeed, symbolically) in a collision with a bus filled with Catholic schoolgirls
on their way to see the Beatles' American debut on The Ed Sullivan Show.
The play begins with the Plaids returning from the afterlife for one final
chance at musical glory. The songs they sing during the course of the musical
include: "Three Coins in the Fountain"; "Undecided"; "Gotta
Be This or That"; "Moments to Remember, “Rags to Riches"; and
"Love is a Many-Splendored Thing".
We will do a quick drawing when you board the bus for a $25 gift card to
spend at… Boyd’s
Bear Country! Here you can learn
the history of the famous bear company, build your own bear, or take home one of
your familiar friends. |
