Ogunquit to York Harbor. You'll see
unsurpassed views of York's elegant homes and the crashing surf along the rocky
coast. You’ll circle the
picturesque Nubble Lighthouse for a
view of the beacon from the water. Perkins
Cove features quaint boutiques and restaurants, plus a unique draw-footbridge
which spans the entry to the lovely harbor. Take a stroll along a stretch of the
Marginal Way shoreline walking path
that begins here. Meet
your local guide for a narrated
tour of Kennebunkport, just north of Ogunquit. Drive past the sandy beaches
and rocky coastline, past the George Bush
estate at Walker’s Point, hear the
history of these shipbuilding towns and the legend of the Wedding Cake House.
You'll also visit the seaside Franciscan
Monastery with its beautiful landscaping, outdoor shrines and chapel.

playhouse. The Playhouse is known
for their quality theater presentations with professional casts, wonderful
music, eye-popping costumes and gorgeous sets – a great night out!
Depart
for Portland, a restored seacoast town. Meet
your local guide for a narrated tour of
Portland - Maine’s largest city-by-the-sea. You’ll see views of
Longfellow’s boyhood home, sea captain houses and the elegant Victoria Mansion
as you drive through historic neighborhoods overlooking the islands of Casco Bay
in Portland Harbor. Your tour includes a stop
at Portland Head Light.
This historic landmark is the most photographed lighthouse in America,
set in Fort Williams Park with crashing surf, a beach, and an old fort.
Tour the Portland
Harbor Museum on the grounds of Fort Preble in South Portland to learn about
the city’s maritime heritage and take a special
private tour of a local lighthouse that is not normally open to the public.
The lighthouse is accessible via a granite jetty (some uneven footing
here, benches available for those who are unable to navigate the jetty or
stairs). You’ll see how the
lighthouse keepers lived as you walk through the rooms to the top of the two
story lighthouse. Step out on the
ledge at the top for a beautiful view of the Portland waterfront. Explore Freeport village, home of
sporting goods king, L.L. Bean and numerous outlet shops and restaurants. Return
to the hotel to rest and refresh for the evening. Stop
for a photo of Maine's southernmost lighthouse, the Nubble Light in Cape Neddick. From
Nubble Light you will also spot the infamous Boon Island Lighthouse, located just off-shore.
Enjoy a classic downeast lobsterbake dinner this evening A festive evening with singalong entertainment is in store for you. You’ll feast on your choice of Maine boiled lobster or barbecued chicken, plus chowder, cultivated mussels, corn on the cob, Maine potatoes and blueberry cake. Spend
time shopping at
Stonewall Kitchen in York,
where you can overlook the manufacturing of Maine jams and other condiments.
